Here are some helpful tips on staying safe:

• Always lock your room windows and door and keep your keys with you.
• Don’t leave valuables like your wallet, checkbook or jewelry in open view.
• Never prop open an exit door.  You are jeopardizing the safety of many others besides yourself.
• Don’t walk alone, especially at night. Always walk in lighted areas.
• Do not keep large amounts of cash on campus or on your person.
• Carry your ID with you at all times.
• Know the locations of campus telephones.
• Call Public Safety at (412) 397-2424 to report crimes or suspicious activities. Program this number into your cell phone so you’ll have it if you need it.
