To Parents & Families:

We appreciate your enthusiasm and support of your student as he/she begins their college experience.  Completing the Roommate Questionnaire is one task in all of the preparations for college that we ask you to please leave up to your student.  It is important that he/she answer all questions honestly and according to their own vision of their upcoming college experience.  Your guidance and support are invaluable to your student’s success; however, he/she will ultimately be the one who has to live with their roommate so it’s important that their answers are completely their own on the Roommate Questionnaire.  We value your continued involvement in your student’s education and look forward to working together to help your student navigate the challenges ahead.  Rest assured that we will be in touch in a number of different ways over the next few years to keep you informed about Residence Life here at RMU.

To Students:

Thank you for taking the time to complete the Roommate Questionnaire.  The information you provide through your answers to the survey questions will help us as we strive to match up new students with their roommates for the 2010-2011 academic year.  As you answer the questions, please try to keep in mind what you think your habits will be as a college student here at RMU.  We also ask that you answer the questions honestly and completely.  Remember that these surveys, although helpful in pairing roommates, are not a guarantee for a perfect living situation.  You will need to communicate effectively and keep an open mind throughout your roommate relationship.  Residence Life is also here to help should you need advice or assistance in establishing a healthy living situation.

Please note that roommate questionnaires received after June 1st may not be able to be fully considered as the assignment process will already be in progress.
