The Department of Sport Management offers a concentration in sport management leading to the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) degree. Students in other academic concentrations at the university can pursue a minor in sport management. The Department offers graduate courses and provides students the option to earn an MBA degree with a Sport Management focus or a Sport Management track in the Masters of Science degree in Educational Leadership.
The key to success with professional preparation in the sport and recreation field is the emphasis on experiential learning starting with the freshman year. Internships, class projects, part-time jobs and volunteer opportunities along with the regionally recognized Robert Morris University Student Sport Management Career Conference allow students to learn about career development and networking. Additional strengths of the program include a highly qualified faculty, an involved alumni association and advisory board with extensive sport industry experience as well as an active student organization (Sport Management Association).
