December '03 - Grant Opportunities

TechNotes eNewsletter December 2003 | |
| The survey results are in and, overwhelmingly, you asked to see more effective uses of technology by local nonprofits. We weren't too surprised by this (we want to see this too!) and so we hope to bring you more examples and case studies starting with the January 2004 edition of TechNotes. If you admire (or are proud of) a nonprofit for their technology usage, let us know!
A very special thank you to all those who participated in our reader survey and congratulations to Ruth Casey of The Emmaus Community of Pittsburgh. Ruth is the winner of our drawing and will be able to take a technology class of her choosing in the spring for free! |

Special Announcement: Spring Course Pricing
For all of you cash-strapped nonprofits, we have good news. In response to the tough economic climate, the Bayer Center will be offering temporary price reductions to our courses in the Spring 2004 semester. And if that isn¿t all, be sure to check out our revised scholarship guidelines - more organizations than ever are now eligible! We have lots of classes to choose from so keep your eyes posted for our January - February brochure. |
January Technology Class Preview If you want to make better technology decisions for your organization, we encourage you to take Technology Planning for the Non-Technical Nonprofit. This five session class provides a comprehensive yet completely understandable way to organize your thoughts and priorities about technology so you make the most of your precious resources. A must for any nonprofit, especially those without a Chief Technology Officer! Starts January 22.
How about that New Year¿s resolution to get a handle on your organization¿s contacts? If you¿ve been thinking about Access, you might want to look at Managing Your Mailing List with Microsoft Access. This class assumes no prior database knowledge and you¿ll be able to use the skills learned in this class to design the best fit for your organization. Starts January 28.
Registration information will be included in the course catalog and will soon posted on the web. If you have any questions prior to receiving your catalog, please feel free to call the Bayer Center at 412-227-6814 or email us at bcnm@rmu.edu. |

Food for Thought Consult not your fears but your hopes and your dreams. Think not about your frustrations, but about your unfulfilled potential. Concern yourself not with what you tried and failed in, but with what it is still possible for you to do. --Pope John XXIII
