| Studies lead to the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Applied Mathematics
degree.
Program Overview
This degree program is designed for students who desire to further
study mathematics. Mathematics is a highly creative field,
combining logic and precision with intuition and imagination, and
is a powerful tool for solving practical problems. Students discover
the creative side of the subject and see how mathematics is used to
solve important problems. This major can lead to rewarding careers
in government and industry and also prepares students for
graduate study in mathematics. |

Curriculum Requirements
The 126-credit program has three components:
- Robert Morris University Core - 40 credits
These are the traditional liberal arts requirements of the
University. Studies in humanities, communications skills, and
social, behavioral, natural and quantitative sciences are included.
- Applied Mathematics - 41 credits
This component includes courses in calculus with analytic
geometry, statistics, linear algebra, discrete mathematics, computer
programming, differential equations and operations research.
- Open Electives - 45 credits
This component permits students to select courses from other
University programs to personalize the program of study.
