INFS3160 - Human Computer Interaction
Spring 2013 This course provides the student with a introduction to the field of Human Computer Interaction (HCI) and the opportunity to apply the theories and concepts of HCI using a real-life usability scenario. The disciplines studied contributing to HCI include: computer science, artificial intelligence, cognitive psychology, social and organizational psychology, ergonomics and human factors, usability engineering, linguistics, philosophy, sociology, and anthropology. Program design and development is addressed through the use of host languages and/or on-line screen development software such as COBOL, VISUAL BASIC, JAVA, or HTML. The student develops interactive application programs that can include on-line creation of a transaction file and updating of master files or databases in a real-time environment.
