HIST2200 - Twentieth Century America Spring 2013 This course deals with the social, intellectual, political, and economic forces which have shaped the American character in the 20th century. Emphasis is given to reform movements and to the assumption and implications of America's "big power" status. American Puritanism, the American Enlightenment, the romantic era, and the intellectual revolution are considered as well as general examination of conservatism, liberalism, and radicalism in modern America. This course is usually offered only in the fall term. 3 Credits
