Area Coordinator The Human Resources Department announces the position of
Area Coordinator reporting to the Director/Assistant Director of Residence Life.
Responsibilities include:
assists with the
development and implementation of the University's Residence Life program and
all housing operations; plans, develops, presents and facilitates staff programs
and training; assists in the residence life staff recruitment and selection
process; supervises and evaluates the residence life para-professional staff;
conducts staff meetings; maintains a safe and secure environment in the
residence halls
and
develops a community atmosphere; facilitates
the practice of individual and community responsibility; promotes and
facilitates resident participation in University and community organizations and
leadership development programs; advises, counsels and provides support to
students; provides support and assistance in the development of residential
academic support programs, seminars and related educational programs; directly
supervises area Resident Assistants; develops and coordinates a living and
learning environment; assists in the development and implementation of weekend
programming; responds to students¿ counseling needs; responds immediately to
crisis situations; directs the actions of Resident Assistant staff and
appropriate reporting of information; keeps accurate written records of all
counseling contacts; addresses and resolves discipline situations; facilitates
educational interventions; assists in the coordination and implementation
administrative policies and procedures; posts and maintains assigned office
hours; provides system wide on call (duty) coverage year round including during
holiday/vacation periods; attends all relevant meetings, workshops, functions,
activities, etc.; participates in Student Life collaboration and campus
committees as assigned; advises student organizations as appropriate; attends
Student Life functions, workshops and meetings as required; and performs
additional duties as assigned. Requirements:
