Freshman Admissions Counselor The Human Resources Department announces the position of Freshman Admissions Counselor, reporting to the Associate Director, Admissions and Campus Visit Programs. This is an entry level position within the admissions department responsible for the recruitment of undergraduate students to the University to achieve departmental objectives.
Responsibilities include:
effectively managing the recruitment of prospective freshmen from within a
designated
geographic recruitment territory; scheduling and
visitation of high schools, primarily within the designated territory;
implementing recruitment strategies as outlined in the departmental objectives
in the assigned territory; attending college fairs and other recruiting
programs, events and receptions and other individuals or organizations involved
in the college selection process
in order to attract students to the University; using
the Enrollment Management Action System (EMAS), Patriot System and PowerFaids in
order to correspond with prospective students; assisting in the
development and delivery of on and off-campus recruiting events; contributing to
the success of various student visit programs;
completing phone calls, face-to-face visits, and written correspondence
scheduled through the EMAS software; counseling prospective applicants on
admissions and financial aid processes and opportunities; explaining various
admissions practices, procedures, and policies of the University to prospective
students, parents and guidance counselors; providing follow-up with students and
parents via phone, letters, emails and scheduled appointments in specific
recruitment territory; reviewing admission
applications, evaluating credentials and making admission decisions; adhering to
University policies and procedures regarding travel and procurement; and
performing related work as required. Requirements:
