Technology Analyst II (Part-Time)

Robert Morris University seeks candidates for the part-time position of Technology Analyst II (TA II) in the Department of Information Technology.

Reporting to the Director, IT Customer Services, this position resolves software and hardware problems, escalates issues appropriately, and works independently on technology projects.  The TA II assists students, faculty, and staff with videoconferencing sessions and presentation equipment.  

NOTE: This is a 15 - 20 hour/week part-time position with work hours that may include evenings and week-ends. This position is not eligible for the University benefit programs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Resolve technology questions and problems reported by RMU students, faculty, and staff through the Help Desk.  Document incoming questions and problems along with steps taken to resolve the issue in the Help Desk trouble ticket system, according to department standards.  Provide appropriate follow-up and feedback to requestors.

  • Set up equipment for classes as requested and securely store equipment when the class is finished for the session. 

  • Quickly respond to technology issues in classrooms, as reported by faculty.

  • Set up and monitor multi-party videoconferences.  

  •  Work independently on assigned technology projects, which include upgrading software and hardware, making service calls on printers, and replacing parts in presentation equipment.  Participate in major projects, such as equipment upgrades, lab re-imaging, or facility moves as requested.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Technology customer service excperience.

  • Excellent problem resolution skills and communication skills.

  • Experience with any of the following:  Microsoft, Apple, or Google software products; videoconferencing equipment; audio-visual equipment.

  • Ability work independently and without direct supervision.

  •  Ability to learn new technologies quickly.

  • Ability to move equipment, up to 25 pounds.
