Facilities Specialist II (Full-Time Temporary)

The Human Resources Department announces the position of Facilities Specialist II reporting to the Manager of Operations.

Responsibilities include:  provide oversight of facility services; manage resource allocation to ensure delivery of service, and ensuring deliverables meet quality expectations and contractual obligations; receives information related to events and executes plan utilizing resources and information provided; support university service departments; supervise and perform work activities to provide quality service to customers; evaluate assigned group tasks being completed; supervise and coordinate group giving new direction as needed; ensure levels of the daily performance of the group through various methods of inspection; resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion; execute assigned work keeping in mind priorities to meet deadlines; provide continuous customer service during each event; maintain equipment/furniture inventory and storage rooms; report necessary maintenance needs; oversee facility services during events such as food, decor, audio/visual equipment, custodial services and security; adhere to University and Department policies and procedures; possess a working knowledge of the union contract; knowledgeable on chemicals used in Environmental Services and advise employees concerning use and safety (MSDS information); attend seminars and training sessions as requested; and performs related work.

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent work experience required. Supervisory experience required.

  • Valid PA Driver's License required. Knowledge of Robert Morris Education Support Professionals (PSEA-NEA) Agreement and ability to apply appropriately.

  • Ability to provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, clients (internal/external), vendors, and public attendees.

  • Ability to receive and execute verbal and written instructions;

  • Ability to make quick decisions providing good judgments. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with all levels of staff and management.

  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously; professional presentation and work ethic.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with diverse groups ranging from summer camps, corporate executives, RMU Athletics, political representatives, etc.

  • Ability to operate audio visual equipment, computer programs, such as Microsoft applications, event scheduling software, and ability to apply programs to job performance.

  • Ability to work flexible shifts, holidays and weekends.

  • Ability to problem solve event issues and maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism.

  • Excellent organizational, customer service and communication skills.

  • Ability to work during University closings.

  • Ability to bend, stoop, lift, climb ladders or scaffold, remain standing or walking for long periods of time and ability to lift 50 pounds.

  • Abide by all of the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA and the NEC.
